Larisa Daiga is an experimental ceramist and video artist working outside of New York City. Currently, she is trying to grow two little people and build a new studio. Soon, she will be working on a new series of wall pieces exploring aging, vulnurability, stability and regeneration through plants.

Before she worked in multiple projects exploring movement, function, and interaction. In 2011 she traveled to Japan, which influenced her to really explore the boundaries of a ceramic object, questioning what can the experience of it be and in which discipline can it reside. In 2013 she participated in the Stratigraphic Manufactury at the New Museum in NYC, and the Film Room at the British Ceramics Biennial amongst other exhibitions internationally.

“These vessels’ ‘voices’ give sonic expression to sound and noise as sculptural form…They test the limits of the materials, their function. Daiga’s fusion of craft, sound and video is intriguingly pitched.” Alex Hetherington, Aesthetica Magazine blog
